From Türkiye to the US: Scrape.do's Next Chapter

Founder @ Scrape.do
I started Scrape.do in Ankara in 2020.
It began as a tool I built for myself. I was doing freelance scraping projects on the side and kept getting blocked, so I wrote something that didn't get blocked.
A large company heard about it through word of mouth and became our first customer within a week. Not long after, I quit my job to run it full time.
For the first two years, Scrape.do was just me. No investors, no outside money. Just customers who needed data and a product that got it for them.
Today we're a team of almost 30 people, handling billions of requests every month for companies all over the world.
Now it's time for the next chapter.
Here are three changes that shape where Scrape.do goes next.
We're Moving Our Headquarters to the US
Scrape.do is moving its headquarters from Türkiye to the United States.
A large share of the companies building with web data are in the US, and so are many of the teams building AI products on top of it. Moving there puts us closer to them and gives us the base we need to grow our web data and proxy products faster than we could before.
Ankara is where Scrape.do was built, and it will always be part of who we are.
We're Investing in Our Own Proxy Pools
This year was a wake-up call for the proxy industry.
In January 2026, Google disrupted one of the world's largest residential proxy networks, which was running on hijacked devices. In July 2026, Google and the FBI went after another one, built on at least two million compromised devices, and US authorities seized hundreds of its domains.
Residential proxies work because real people's devices and connections carry the traffic. When those people never agreed to it, the product is built on someone else's loss. And the customers buying that traffic were often in the dark too, with no idea their requests were running through hijacked devices.
Our position hasn't changed: every IP in Scrape.do's proxy network is 100% ethically sourced, and it always has been.
But carefully vetting where our IPs come from isn't enough for where this industry needs to go. So we're investing in our own proxy pools: infrastructure we build, own, and run ourselves, so we know exactly where every IP comes from.
This is how we want to raise the bar for ethical proxy sourcing, and it's the foundation for the proxy products we're building next.
We're Investing More in Data
Accessing honest, accurate data is going to get harder.
More of the web is sitting behind walls, more of it is being written by machines, and more of the decisions made on top of it are being made by AI. The models behind those decisions are only as good as the data they learn from and read in real time.
We want Scrape.do to have a part to play here: in powering the AI ecosystem, in keeping the web open for the people building on it, and in shaping where technology goes next.
We'll share more about what this looks like soon.
What Stays the Same
If you're a Scrape.do customer, nothing changes on your side.
Same API, same plans, same engineers answering your support tickets.
Scrape.do started as a tool I built for myself. Six years later, it's a team of almost 30 people building it together every day, and none of what's in this post would happen without them.
The problem is bigger now, the stakes are higher, and the web needs companies that do this the right way. That's the company we're building, together.
Thank you for being part of it.
